EPF's Caucasus Research Resource Centers (CRRC)

This sixth issue of EPF's quarterly e-bulletin highlights EPF's Caucasus Research Resource Centers program (CRRC). CRRC is a network of resource, research and training centers established in the capital cities of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia with the goal of strengthening social science research and public policy analysis in the South Caucasus.

Eurasia Partnership Foundation's (EPF) mission is to empower people to effect change for social justice and economic prosperity through hands-on programs, helping them to improve their communities and their own lives. Read more...

Data Initiative Project

Data is a critically important foundation for social research. In the South Caucasus, however, reliable, up-to-date and accessible data on social, political and economic issues are often in short supply. CRRC focuses on providing and maintaining access to sound data, sponsoring and collecting data on a wide range of social, economic and political variables related to the South Caucasus.

Comprehensive Media Research in Georgia

In August - November 2009, CRRC undertook a study of the media landscape in Georgia with funding from the European Union. The study consisted of a comprehensive, nationwide survey of the Georgian population's attitudes to media (in Georgian speaking areas only), eight focus groups in two Georgian cities, in-depth interviews with forty-seven top media professionals, and a media-monitoring project to analyze the current state of the news broadcast by Georgian TV stations. Please find the report and the data here...

Public Opinion Survey on European Integration

Despite regular reference to Europe in discussions about Georgia's political, economic and social future, there had been no comprehensive assessments of the public's views on EU integration. What do Georgians themselves value about Europe? What do Georgians expect from convergence with the European Union? What are their concerns in this process? And what do they want to know more about? To answer these and other questions about Georgia's relationship with Europe, CRRC has undertaken a comprehensive survey. You can find the report and the data here...

Corruption Survey of Households: Comparative Results for 2008/2009

As part of the Mobilizing Action Against Corruption (MAAC) program, the CRRC has conducted a detailed corruption survey of households across Armenia. This is the second survey in the framework of MAAC. The first survey took place in the fall of 2008, in cooperation with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). Please read more here...

Social Science in the Caucasus | CRRC Blog

From Nairobi to Sydney and from Bishkek to Los Angeles, the CRRC's blog attracts a worldwide readership and is often picked up by other blogs. The blog aims to summarize research on the South Caucasus for those who are interested in the region and do not have enough time to read all of the fascinating research being done. The blog also provides insights and commentary of what we see here on the ground. We welcome your visit! You can find the CRRC's regional blog here..
